"Mr President, three points. First of all, I want to thank Ms Lope Fontagné for her excellent cooperation and congratulate her on her very comprehensive report on social entrepreneurship and social innovation in combating unemployment. We have heard that these enterprises employ 14 million people and contribute to social inclusion, rural and regional development and environmental protection. Crucially, these jobs cannot be outsourced. Yet in my opinion, these enterprises deserve greater support than at present. I fully support the recommendations in this report, in particular the need for a legal framework. Secondly, precarious employment: Commissioner Dombrovskis has told us that it is difficult to define and monitor precarious work. I say to him that this may be true, but equally what most people want is a decent job that will enable them to support themselves and their families. You quoted figures from the Commission’s own social and economic report for the last quarter. But there is another statistic from that report which tells us that in the final quarter of 2015 two thirds of the jobs created were permanent, one third were temporary. The question is: will that one third support families? Probably not. We can and must do better. Finally, a comment on the excellent report from my colleague Martina Dlabajová on matching skills and qualifications with demand and job opportunities. Her report contains all of the pieces of the jigsaw puzzle that are necessary to match skills and jobs."@en1
