"The key objective of the proposal is to establish measures that will relocate 40 000 migrant arrivals deemed to be ‘in need of international protection’ from the shores of Italy and Greece and move them to other EU member states. The United Kingdom has an opt-out and is not required to accept any of the quota. The proposal calls for burden sharing and a common EU asylum policy, which UKIP are fundamentally opposed to. It even allows migrants who have entered European countries illegally the opportunity to choose where they are to be relocated."@en1
