"Mr President, solidarity, coordination, humanitarianism, generosity are words that capture not just what Commission President Juncker said this morning, but I think are reflected across the House today, and I welcome that. And I am sure my own country Ireland will not be found wanting in those qualities as well when taking in more refugees. I have two questions. One, Pope Francis suggested that each Catholic Diocese take in a family. Can this be incorporated into European policy, and how can it be done? And would other churches join in as well? Secondly, President Tusk has rightly condemned people smugglers as murderers, and I am at a loss as to why we cannot deal with them more effectively, and in particular confiscate their boats, because they are the real culprits in this and they need to be dealt with effectively."@en1
