Our people do not want more central planning, rules, regulation, targets – and please, no more wasted taxpayers’ millions. People thrive when they taste true freedom. We must break down government to bring it closer to the people. Instead of regionalisation, let us have localism. We will fight against the EU-supported Greater Birmingham combined authority in the West Midlands that I represent because the people do not want the power to be centralised. The people want the power brought closer to them – true democracy – and, underneath, the fury of the people when they see this centralisation will bury this centralisation scheme in the West Midlands and we will bring forth the people’s desire for true democracy and freedom."@en1
