"The report argues that public policy should account for both economic aspect of culture in promoting growth and tourism. It argues that the monetisation of culture cannot be allowed to effect the fact that ultimately cultural heritage must retain its cultural values and involve the whole of society. I strongly support this approach, which is particularly relevant to Wales with our strong cultural identity. I believe that, beyond the economic potential of cultural heritage, we must focus on the opportunities offered by an integrated approach to addressing contemporary challenges through sensitive interpretation, encouraging the use of cultural heritage as an educational tool to deal with societal issues in order to combat hatred and division and bring the people of Europe closer together."@en1
