This report contained some very positive provisions, specifically paragraph 5, which underlined the importance of the ecosystem approach and the precautionary principle, which should be at the core of the blue economy. Furthermore, it stated that investment in the blue economy should focus on eco-innovation, circular economy and nature conservation (paragraph 30). Finally, the report stressed the importance of social dialogue and considered that all social partners involved in the blue economy should be represented (paragraph 62). It was for these reasons that I voted in favour of this report."@en1
