lpv:spoken text	"I supported the report on the situation of fundamental rights in the European Union for the period 2013-2014. Europe is quick to call for fundamental rights to be upheld around the world, but our Member States must also look inward and continue to protect and enforce the European values and fundamental rights enshrined in the Treaties and the Charter. I voted in favour of Amendments 5 and 8 on the rights of asylum-seekers and the principle of solidarity and for paragraphs supporting issues such as freedom of religion and belief, violence against women, LGBTI rights and rights of people with disabilities. I also supported the call for an EU mechanism on democracy, the rule of law and fundamental rights and to grant the FRA wider powers and greater resources, so that it can monitor the situation in Member States and publish an annual monitoring report containing a detailed evaluation of each Member State’s performance."@en1
