lpv:spoken text	"I was proud to vote in favour of the report by the Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection (IMCO) which strengthens the EU’s stance on the sale of seal products. By calling for the removal of the marine resources management (MRM) exception, we are not only making our legislation more efficient, we are also preventing further challenges to our ban from non-EU countries in the World Trade Organization. In so doing, we are placing our relationship with our international partners on surer foundations. I also voted to strengthen the protection on the hunting practices of the Inuit peoples, to aid in the preservation of their unique way of life. Since the introduction of the EU-wide ban in 2009 more than two million seals have been saved from an inhumane death. It is an honour to reinforce this ban and uphold the values of EU citizens."@en1
