"I voted in favour of the Lambert report because it is imperative we increase the employment potential of jobs in the green sector. I welcome the Green Employment Initiative, given it presents an integrated framework to allow labour market and skill policies to play an active role to support the transition towards a greener economy and focuses on the importance of anticipating and establishing adequate skills policies to support workers in coping with structural change, of securing labour market transitions, and of strengthening governance and partnership-based initiatives.
The green sector offers huge opportunities for future job creation and we owe it to the 23 million people in Europe who are currently out of work to make sure Europe can maximise this potential."@en1
