"The British Conservatives voted against this report. While we recognise that the Commission’s draft budget 2016 and this report are a step in the right direction in terms of re-prioritising EU funding on those areas where real EU added value can be identified, Conservatives have always been clear that we want to see real budget discipline and ensure that we have a budget that is fit for purpose and future proof. We believe that we must be prudent now more than ever in order to recoup previous years’ spending (e.g. mobilisation of the contingency margin of EUR 3 billion above the ceilings in 2014). We want to ensure that we make savings now for the future in order to react to unforeseen circumstances and, most importantly, that we deliver on the existing MFF agreement. Unfortunately, we are not convinced that this sentiment is reflected in this report, and for these reasons we voted against."@en1
