"I voted in favour of the Agea report because I believe it is high time the cost of living crisis, that has been felt for too long in the UK and throughout Europe, was addressed. Too many people find themselves stuck on zero hour contracts or in precarious work. Labour wants to see wage growth and the protection of workers’ rights which this report achieves. We owe it to our citizens to tap the full potential of instruments offered by the EU to invest in sustainable and quality job creation; decent working conditions; decent living wages set up through collective bargaining; rights-based labour markets with adequate social protection; reduced labour market segmentation; and quality employment for all in terms of socio-economic security. I furthermore agree that the review of Europe 2020 must be used as an opportunity to put quality jobs at the centre of European policy. Europe’s job-rich recovery has to materialise now."@en1
