I firmly believe this will lead to a more sustainable and long-term focus, as well as increased accountability of directors to those who choose to invest. Shareholders should be able to know where their companies make profits and, crucially, where they pay their taxes. In order to have certainty that the company is paying its correct share of tax, shareholders need to understand the health and the prospects of the company they are investing in. For this reason, public ‘country-by-country’ reporting for major international companies would represent an important step forward."@en1
