"The ECON Oral Question and Resolution represent a first reaction from the committee to the Commission green paper proposing a Capital Markets Union (CMU), led by Lord Hill. The resolution includes high-level compromises covering key topics such as the possible benefits of a CMU, the need for it to be a genuine 28 Member State European approach, and the identification of legislative barriers that might hinder success. The ECR has successfully added amendments pointing out that non-legislative measures have merit and market-led solutions are important."@en1
