lpv:spoken text	"I voted in favour of this report on the evolution of the fruit and vegetable sector since 2007. This reform helped strengthen the role of Producer Organisations and ‘the rate of organisations’ increased from 31% in 2004 to 43% in 2010. Total EU financial assistance has increased from €380 million per annum to €671 million in 2010. However there was a decline of 6% in the fruit and vegetable production in the EU with a long term decline in fruit and vegetable consumption. In order to reverse this decline I fully support the proposal that Producer Organisations be strengthened and that the Commission needs to intensify its efforts to protect farmers from unfair trading practices by large retailers. We must ensure that negotiating power is not strongly concentrated in the hands of the retailers."@en1
