lpv:spoken text	"Madam President, I voted for this report because I support the idea that the flexibility contained within the Stability and Growth Pact should be used by the Commission. In this context, I was pleased to read the Commission’s initial communication on flexibility within the pact. I and some of my Irish colleagues were the only Members of this Parliament to actively work and canvas the Irish people to actually vote for the fiscal compact in our last EU referendum. Therefore, the rules we voted for should be enforced and the flexibility they contain should be honoured. Hence I support the idea in the report that the Commission should clarify where the room for flexibility exists because, above all on this issue, we need clarity and predictability."@en1
