lpv:spoken text	"As I explained in the context of the Gardini report, I believe the ratification decision on the conclusion of the Doha Amendment to the Kyoto Protocol and the joint fulfilment of the commitments by the EU will send a strong signal about the efforts and the leadership of the EU and its Member States in addressing climate change at international level. I therefore supported the conclusion of the Doha Amendment to the Kyoto Protocol. I also voted in favour of the La Via report, given Iceland is not an EU Member State, which means the terms of joint fulfilment concerning its participation in the second commitment period of the Kyoto Protocol had to be laid down in a separate international agreement."@en1
