"UKIP voted against this report because we do not support the formation of EU military capabilities and reject EU interference in the defence, security and foreign affairs policy of Member States. The split vote on Article 1 calls for the Member States to meet defence treaty obligations. Although UKIP would ensure that the UK at least meets the 2% NATO target, this further interference of the EU in domestic policy sets a dangerous precedent for further powers to be transferred to EU level."@en1
