lpv:spoken text	"Madam President, I abstained on this report because whilst I fully agree that we should look into how we could step up cooperation to make the EU’s common security and defence policy more efficient, I think it is crucial both for the EU and my country that the UK is kept on board. Yes, the EU needs to add a bite to its bark on security and defence, but when this happens outside NATO, or by duplicating actions already covered by NATO, I find it difficult to support this. It simply means wasting more money and getting less global clout in return. I do, however, think that the report addresses a number of issues of major importance that should be addressed when the Member States discuss the CSDP in June. Crucially, we should be looking into where we can provide added value and do more with the few resources that we have.
