"An estimated 80 million people in the European Union have a disability. The Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities is an international human rights treaty of the United Nations intended to protect the rights and dignity of persons with disabilities. The United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) entered into force on 21 of January 2011. This has been signed by all 28 EU Member States and ratified by 25 of them.
Issues examined in the review include equal rights to vote and stand for elections, criteria for reasonableness and proportionality for accommodation measures, full EU website accessibility, and a proposal for a European Accessibility Act. On the basis of the Commission’s reply, the UNCRPD Committee will form its concluding observations by 4 September 2015."@en1
