lpv:spoken text	"This report is the European Parliament’s response to a Commission report evaluating how Member States have implemented recommendations to improve patient safety and prevent healthcare associated infections (HAIs). It calls for Member States to take further action to ensure adequate funding, better monitoring of HAIs and on-going training for healthcare professionals to reduce infection rates. The report also encourages responsible use of antibiotics, and calls on Member States to highlight the dangers of antibiotic resistance. Labour MEPs voted for this report because it calls for action to improve patient safety and fight antimicrobial resistance, to ease the burden this places on overstretched health systems."@en1
