"This vote was not a roll-call vote. Therefore, in the interests of democracy I believe that the public has the right to know how I voted on this issue. I voted to waive immunity in this case because the alleged offence does not relate to the role of MEP and there is no obvious clear injustice as regards this case.
The request for referral back to committee from Mr Verhofstadt covered legal issues; two minutesʼ discussion is insufficient for me to determine how to vote on that. These matters should be treated with a degree of seriousness which the Rules of Procedure do not permit. I reluctantly followed the rapporteurʼs line on that vote."@en1
