lpv:spoken text	"I voted in favour of the report on the European Investment Bank’s Annual Report because the EIB performs a crucial role in the European economy. In 2013, the EIB invested EUR 5.8 bn in the UK – the largest annual investment ever, and nearly 10% of its total European investments. The role of the EIB is only going to become more important as the EUR 315 bn European Fund for Strategic Investment is implemented and the EIB selects which projects will benefit from the fund. So it is right that this report focuses on areas where the EIB could improve – providing more help for SMEs, increasing its transparency and accountability, and ensuring that it invests in projects that deliver strong social and environmental returns."@en1
