lpv:spoken text	"I voted in favour of the report as it will improve parliamentary scrutiny, strengthen the independence of the heads of national statistical institutes (NSI) in order to avoid political interference in the production of statistics. In addition, it will ensure equal opportunities, in particular on gender, in national bodies assuring the independence of the producers of statistics. The text also clarifies the relationships between the two main pillars of the production of European statistics: the European System of Central Banks (ESCB) and the European Central Bank and the Commission (Eurostat) which are called upon to coordinate the statistical activities of the institutions and bodies of the European Union, in particular with a view to ensuring consistency and quality of the data and minimising the reporting burden."@en1
