lpv:spoken text	"Over 8 billion plastic carrier bags are littered in the EU every year, causing significant harm to the environment, especially under the form of marine litter. Initiatives adopted by some member states, however, prove this problem has an easy and efficient solution: changing societies' mind-set on the use of plastic bags by putting a charge on their use. That's why I gave my support to the Bonafi report, which combines ample flexibility for member states with a call to make those who want to use plastic bags bear the price and the responsibility. Because we simply can't accept for plastic particles in our oceans to outnumber plankton."@en1
