"I voted in favour of the Olbrycht / Thomas report, because it is only common sense that allocations not used in 2014 are carried over to the next year if there is a delay in adopting programmes.
What is not common sense is that people in the UK are disadvantaged over other EU citizens due to the failure of the UK Government to agree on the mechanics by which funds allocated to our regions will be invested. My region of the West Midlands was supposed to receive European Funding worth GBP 719 million last year, but this did not happen because the Government declined to devolve powers to Local Enterprise Partnerships.
When it comes to quality jobs and inclusive growth, every day and every pound counts. But not for the UK Government. Another sad example of the Tories keeping power locked behind Westminster’s doors and failing to conduct an EU policy that benefits our citizens."@en1
