While I am in favour of many aspects of this report, I do not agree that paragraph 25, which calls on the Commission to carefully study the introduction of a minimum corporate tax rate, is appropriate in this report. The EU Treaties clearly state that corporate tax rates are not an EU competence, it is for Member States to decide. I am firmly against aggressive tax planning and believe that the EU has a role in addressing tax evasion from large corporations, but Member States should have the freedom to set their own corporate tax rates."@en1
