lpv:spoken text	"Mr President, Daesh or ISIS has embarked upon a campaign to eradicate all traces of religious and faith communities other than those representing its own twisted interpretation of Islam. Christians, Yazidis, Turkmens, Shiites and other minorities have been subject to this terror campaign. Their methods are barbaric; they are killing or expelling inhabitants and destroying their holy places, including unique internationally—recognised heritage. This is a process of cultural cleansing, comparable to that of Cambodia’s Khmer Rouge back in the 1970s – a vile attempt to take the region back to ground zero. Just last month, ISIS butchered 21 Egyptian Coptic Christians in Libya, and abducted around 22 Assyrian Christians in Syria. As Chairman of the Iraq Delegation, I salute the courage of local Iraqi forces, the Kurdish Peshmerga and the Iraqi armed forces in fighting the evil of ISIS, such as at Tikrit. I encourage international partners vigorously to support military moves against ISIS, right across the region, to protect these endangered minorities."@en1
