"I voted in favour of this proposal which amends General Circulation Directive 96/53/EC, setting maximum weights and dimensions for vehicles circulating in the EU. It is aimed at authorising longer lorries, moreover it authorises new technologies for weight checks on vehicles in order to meet new diesel standards. I am also in favour of more extensive road safety measures on safer lorries at local and regional levels."@en1
