"The European Globalisation Adjustment Fund (EGF) helps workers find new jobs and develop new skills when they have lost their jobs as a result of changing global trade patterns, e.g. when a large company shuts down or a factory is moved to outside the EU, or the global financial and economic crisis. Negotiations on the renewal of the Fund concluded under the Multiannual Financial Framework Agreement and a new EGF Regulation is now in place. There are six EGF applications to be voted on from Poland, Germany and Belgium.
The ECR is opposed in principle to the use of this Fund and voted against the proposals."@en1
