Furthermore, a sentence of 10 years’ imprisonment and 1000 lashes is particularly cruel and disproportionate. I note that Raif Badawi has various health conditions which lead to specific concerns. I have seen the text of the joint motion for a resolution. The choice of words is not ideal in some places, but the sentiment is absolutely correct. I believe that pressure must be brought to bear upon the Saudi authorities."@en1
