"I welcome this report on the activity and work of the Joint Parliamentary Assembly (JPA). The ACP-EU JPA is a forum where the political dialogue should be open, frank and productive. It is crucial to recognise the opportunities and challenges of the present format.
S&D MEPs have previously secured amendments referring to human rights and non-discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity in the ACP countries, as well as calling for more strategic approach for the ACP-EU JPA especially with regard to the negotiations on the post-2015 development framework and the EU-ACP relations after 2020 when the Cotonou agreement expires."@en1
