"Mr President, Robert Burns’ tribute to the haggis begins: For those of you here who have enjoyed haggis you will realise that it is quality sheep, but is it quality British sheep, is it quality Scottish sheep? That is the real question. This particular piece of legislation will ensure that we are certain that when we eat haggis we are eating Scottish haggis, made with Scottish sheep. It will give us confidence in the way that we are able to consume processed food. That is a good thing. That will help not just Scottish farmers and Scottish consumers, but across the whole of the EU. That is why I was comfortable and happy, pleased and proud, to support this particular proposal."@en1
