"UKIP voted against paragraph 6 of the S&D resolution on the Commission Work Programme 2015. We of course oppose any illegal action in the realm of tax. However, we cannot call on the EU to do anything, as this is a step in the direction of further tax powers being handed over to the undemocratic and unaccountable institutions of the EU. The second half of the paragraph calls for more EU legislation on country-by-country reporting for all cross-border companies. UKIP will not support more EU legislation and EU red tape on businesses. UKIP voted against split 1 on paragraph 9 of the EPP resolution on the Commission Work Programme 2015. UKIP was elected to oppose all new EU legislation, get rid of existing EU laws, support powers to be returned to Member States and campaign to leave the EU. As this text concerns the withdrawal of EU proposals, we voted against opposing the withdrawal of the named legislative proposals. Only the unelected EU Commission can initiate new, start to amend existing, or begin repeal of, EU legislation. No one who the people can vote for can change EU laws. This is why the EU is not legitimate in creating laws that the UK is forced to abide by."@en1
