"Mr President, the need to send a strong signal on the situation in Ukraine became clear once more when at least 11 people lost their lives on Tuesday as a passenger bus came under heavy fire in Eastern Ukraine. The fact that this week’s Kazakhstan summit had to be delayed because of failure to implement the ceasefire agreement is not only deeply worrying, it is also an insult to the thousands of people who have already fallen victim to this conflict, as well as to our own citizens, whose well-being is linked to the developments in Ukraine.
The only option for a sustainable solution is one that respects Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. We will be able to help bring this about only if we speak with a single, strong, coordinated voice. Ukraine will be a crucial first test for the Juncker Commission on improving foreign policy coordination. Failing is simply not an option."@en1
