lpv:spoken text	"Mr President, I strongly believe that our economic recovery is highly dependent on a strong manufacturing industry and that the European steel industry must be a sustainable and profitable part of this. I co-signed this resolution to ask the Commission what it is doing to promote key industrial production in all Member States in order to safeguard jobs across the European Union. The Commission needs to promote and protect higher social, economic and environmental standards across the EU, particularly working with our social partners. The Commission needs to keep in mind our urgent need to develop a sustainable and decarbonised economy using a suite of options, including carbon capture and storage. This is why I call on the Commission to commit to developing high-quality energy-efficient and innovative products and processes to promote growth and create quality jobs in a joined-up industrial policy."@en1
