lpv:spoken text	"Mr President, along with my colleagues, I supported the resolution in relation to Palestinian statehood. I believe that it is a very welcome first step by this Parliament, but I believe that this Parliament and Europe and our Member States need to do much more in relation to supporting the Palestinian people and ensuring that the Palestinian State is not only recognised but is in fact a viable and operational state. Only last summer we saw unprecedented, illegal and absolutely outrageous attacks by Israel on the people of Gaza. We have a responsibility as people elected by Member States across the continent of Europe to ensure that those attacks do not happen again, and to ensure that we stand up as communities and nations to Israel, because its ongoing disregard for international law is unacceptable. I believe that today we have taken a first step, but it is only a very small step and lots more remains to be done."@en1
