"Completing the digital single market is something which will be of immeasurable benefit to consumers right across Europe. I want to see a more equal and discrimination-free digital single market. Users should be able to choose between competitors and a more level playing field will result in more options and choices and even better services in the future. By unbundling search engines from other commercial services we are trying to increase competition in the digital single market and create a level playing field. This will also help to support European innovation, particularly for new start-ups, to foster their potential. I want to see fairer and more transparent competition on the EU market. We cannot allow the monopolisation of the EU search engine market. If a situation arises where one company dominates the market then it is only right that we should support the concept of unbundling search engines from other commercial services in order to create this level playing field. It should not matter if the market is offline or online; companies must fairly compete with one another in order to deliver optimal and neutral results for EU citizens."@en1
