"Mr President, I voted in favour of this motion for a resolution, because it is high time that the Commission backs up its promises on the Digital Single Market with concrete action. Not only are we missing out on EUR 260 billion in efficiency gains for each year the digital divide is left gaping – money that could be well used to sustain our recovery from the economic crisis – but completion of the Digital Single Market would also allow us to put Europe firmly on the path of innovation, job creation, competitiveness and growth. This cannot be achieved unless the Commission takes stronger action to curb the commercial dominance of Google in European search engines. A successful Digital Single Market is based on competitive conditions that allow all consumers, internet users and online businesses to benefit, instead of one single company."@en1
