"We need urgent action to tackle tax fraud, tax evasion and tax avoidance but this motion is not the way forward.
Commission President Juncker still has questions to answer on how he will bring forward and enact proposals to crack down on tax avoidance across Europe. People are angry about legal loopholes and a lack of cooperation between European countries which mean that some people and corporations are still not paying their fair share in tax.
We need urgent action to tackle these problems, but this resolution does nothing to tackle tax avoidance.
We need to agree that all multinational companies should be compelled to report what they earn, where they earn it and how much tax they pay. We need a common approach to tackle the use of tax havens once and for all and a blacklist of those companies that are engaging in tax fraud.
This resolution does not address these issues and I cannot support such a motion."@en1
