"I voted against the Green/EFA amendment. The phrase ‘reproductive rights’ could be taken to refer, for example, to abortion on demand. South Sudan is a sovereign nation, and it is for them – not the European Parliament – to determine their policy on this matter.
Nevertheless, I agree with much of the sentiment of their resolution. No-one should be the subject of discrimination due to their gender, and I applaud the Green/EFA Group for drawing attention to an issue. But I could not support the specific wording of their text."@en1
