lpv:spoken text	"I support the need to have a European instrument to assist redundant workers. I am glad that Parliament fully supported the setting up of the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund (EGF) as part of the MFF for 2014 to 2020. I voted in favour of the Carsid application for EUR 911 934 for the 939 steel workers made redundant due to the closure of the Carsid SA production plant. The Charleroi area´s high reliance on the steel production industry, which has in turn been severely impacted by a decline in the construction and automotive sectors as a result of the crisis, requires a fast response and measures to combat long-term unemployment and encourage reintegration into employment. I hope that this will be achieved by the personalised measures to be implemented for the workers."@en1
