lpv:spoken text	"I strongly supported the resolution calling for the EU to play a more active role in the efforts to find a permanent solution in this long on-going conflict. The loss of human life and damage to property in this conflict has been shocking. The EU must therefore participate effectively in the urgent humanitarian aid effort and in the reconstruction of Gaza. We should demand that Israel open Gaza’s borders and immediately halt and withdraw from all illegal settlements, which are undermining the two-state solution. The EU, as a major trade partner and donor in the region, should more effectively use the leverage of its instruments, particularly in the field of trade policy, to resume credible peace talks and achieve tangible results in this process."@en1
