lpv:spoken text	"This resolution calls for all parties to the conflicts in Iraq and Syria to ensure the protection of the civilian population, and to remember their obligations under international humanitarian law. The resolution also calls for the international community to assist the Iraqi authorities in protecting vulnerable minority groups, and particularly women, in the areas threatened by ISIL. The resolution also reiterates concern about the number of foreign fighters, including citizens of EU Member States, who have joined the ISIL insurgency. Labour MEPs voted for this motion, which was also co-authored by my colleague Richard Howitt, because we believe that the actions of ISIL threaten to destabilise the region, and that the protection of innocent civilians and vulnerable or minority groups is absolutely essential."@en1
