We also have to start an educational programme, as I understand that this virus is spread through bushmeat and other consumption of contaminated meat. I think we need to do that: we need to contain the problem and get the European and African Unions involved in that containment programme. We need to get the bigger states, which can help the fragile states in Africa, to become engaged. It is their problem, but it is our problem too. I would like to say a great thank you to all the health workers who have been putting their lives at risk to save other lives. They are sometimes forgotten. I also want to ask the Commissioner if there is a vaccine or if there is something going on in the United States. Should we not accelerate the process and not test it to death – so to speak – until it is not a crisis anymore?"@en1
