"Mr President, I have listened to the debate from the outset and I have listened with a certain amount of bemusement. Firstly, most people, while sharing various concerns regarding TTIP, are in favour of the process taking place. Others are against it from the outset. They seem to be against TTIP – I would say perhaps against the USA rather than TTIP per se. Why would you oppose the opportunity to create two million jobs in Europe, 0.5% of GDP and EUR 550 per family per year? Yet this is what they want to do. We all have concerns about TTIP regarding agriculture, data protection, standards, etc. but that is what negotiation is all about. I say let the negotiations continue, then we can make up our minds based on fact not fiction, reality not perception. Let us get on with it."@en1
