"Parliamentary questions are an important way in which the European Parliament can hold the Commission to account and obtain clarification on certain issues. I voted in favour of this report, which limits the number of questions each MEP can ask per month, because some MEPs were abusing the system and asking an unreasonable amount of questions. It takes a lot of resources and cost for the Commission to answer each question. This is a show of how Labour are helping to control cost in the EU institutions, but mainly transparency."@en1
