"I voted against the requirement for products to carry a country of origin, a requirement which has little to do with consumer safety. Under this clause, EU products must carry either a Union Made label or the name of the Member State. This currently precludes a Made in Scotland label and will cause unnecessary expense for Scottish manufacturers when that label will become necessary after a successful vote for independence."@en1
