"I voted in favour of this report. The EDCTP partnership aims to accelerate the development of new or improved drugs, vaccines, microbicides and diagnostics against HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria, and other poverty related diseases. The focus is on clinical trials in sub-Saharan Africa. Several amendments that my Group submitted on the need to strengthen ethical review committees and the regulatory environment, as well as the need to promote equitable and universal coverage of quality health services, were adopted. My constituents in Wales actively support the improvement of healthcare systems in developing countries."@en1
