"This report updates the regulation governing an Inland Waterway Fund for some Member States in continental Europe with inland waterways linked to those of another Member State and whose total fleet tonnage is over 100[nbsp ]000 tonnes. The fund is administered by the national-level organisations representing inland waterways whose carriers are involved in this administration. The fund consists solely of financial contributions from national industry representatives. The Inland Waterway Fund does not apply to the UK, since it is exempted by virtue of not having waterways linked to those of other Member States and does not contribute any resources to the fund, nor can the UK benefit from the fund. Accordingly, consistent with my position on this fund, I opted to abstain."@en1
