Thankfully, this is a great day, as has been said. I just want to emphasise three points. The deposit guarantee scheme is huge for depositors. It will create confidence in banks and is a job well done.
Banks’ bonuses are being limited, which is very important. I would prefer them to be less, but at least they are better than they were. The concept of ‘too big to fail’ has also been mentioned.
